This week’s hadeeth is long – the longest hadeeth in the book. It is so long, in fact, that we have allowed three whole weeks to memorise it. This week we are studying it up to the word “sabeelaa”, i.e. the part that explains what Islaam is.

قَالَ: صَدَقْت . فَعَجِبْنَا لَهُ يَسْأَلُهُ وَيُصَدِّقُهُ!
قَالَ: فَأَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ الْإِيمَانِ.
قَالَ: أَنْ تُؤْمِنَ بِاَللَّهِ وَمَلَائِكَتِهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ، وَتُؤْمِنَ بِالْقَدَرِ خَيْرِهِ وَشَرِّهِ.
قَالَ: صَدَقْت. قَالَ: فَأَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ الْإِحْسَانِ.
قَالَ: أَنْ تَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ كَأَنَّك تَرَاهُ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ تَرَاهُ فَإِنَّهُ يَرَاك.
قَالَ: فَأَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ السَّاعَةِ. قَالَ: مَا الْمَسْئُولُ عَنْهَا بِأَعْلَمَ مِنْ السَّائِلِ

Alhamdullilah I passed the test but I thought it odd that in question three I got one correct answer and one missed answer considering the question didn’t state that there was more then one correct answer and also considering that both answers were practically the same= “sitting with his companions” and “mixing with the people”. Found it a bit odd!

In the future, I might write in the question if there is more than one correct option in the answer, and I will go back and do this for previous questions too, inshaa Allaah. Meanwhile, look out for circles or squares in the possible answers; circles mean there is only one correct answer, and squares mean more than one option might be correct. Jezaakillaahu khairan
